Jeffrey T. Mitchell, Ph.D., works as an assistant professor at the University of Maryland, Emergency Health Services. He is also on the staff of The Emergency Management Institute of the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland, U.S. He is the founder of The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation Inc. and has authored many publications on crisis intervention, critical incident stress, disaster psychology, and Critical Incident Sress Management.
Dr Mitchell has served the center as an expert in issues related to helping the helpers. He has also acted as a trainer at the following seminars organized in 1996 by the Crisis Consultation and Education Center: Critical Incident Stress Management and Organizing Disasterr Emergency Work.
