Mary Beth Williams

Mary Beth Williams, Ph.D., is the author and editor of numerous publications about trauma. She has been a board member of The International Society for Trauma and Stress Studies and is President of the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. Also, she is a Diplomate member of the American Academy of Police Psychologists. She has been a school social worker for the Falls Church City (VA) School System for over two decades and is also the director of the Trauma Recovery Education and Counseling Center, a private trauma therapy practice located in Warrenton, Virginia, USA.

Dr Willimas served as the trauma therapy supervisor for the personnel of the center during the first years, i.e. 1994-95. She was also instrumental in helping the Crisis Consultation and Education Center and the Finnish Association for Mental Health Education Center plan an advanced-level post-traumatic therapy training (1998-2001) during the last years of the project.



Mary Beth Willimas worked as a trainer at the post-traumatic stress disorder and therapy seminar that was organized in 1994 by the CCEC together with the Northern Ostrobothnia District of the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare.
